Achievements & Reflections
Rebecca's journey as an author took root with the realization that writing facilitates both education and recovery. While pursuing her doctoral studies, she learned that scholarly inquiry and composition increased development and understanding. In drafting her debut novel, she found that words mended her grief over the loss of a beloved pet. This odyssey began in the stillness of her thoughts, sparked by her devotion to honoring the memory of her dog, Gracie. A person who once found reading difficult in childhood now finds joy in the literary world. Rebecca is a committed writer who realized her potential through academic and life paths and wants to encourage others through her writing.
A turning point in her journey came when she completed her service in the Air Force and earned a Doctorate in Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Special Education, from Liberty University. Her debut novel, For the Love of Gracie, marked the beginning of her interest in storytelling and self-publishing. Utilizing her life experiences and academic background, Rebecca cultivated a writing style that remains sophisticated yet approachable. Her writing style resonates deeply, avoiding complex jargon for clear, impactful reading. She remains dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom in writing books and considers herself a lifelong learner.
Every landmark—from her transition from military service to teaching to writing her first book. She aims to make an impact and offer mentorship or coaching to others, while also learning herself. Looking ahead, she aims not merely to publish books on subjects she cares about, but to engage and collaborate with others and fellow creators through shared narratives, life adventures, and teaching perspectives, while building a lasting bookish heritage for Rebecca O'Neal's Bookshelf™.
